Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU)

Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) has been implementing various projects funded by the Bangladesh Climate Change Trust Fund (BCCTF). These initiatives aim to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change, increase agricultural productivity, and ensure a sustainable environment. Under SAU’s leadership, and in collaboration with universities across the country, research, technological innovation, and field-level farmer training programs are being conducted. Since 2019, these projects have been implemented in multiple municipalities and cities.

The projects focus on the use of modern agricultural technologies, seed development, water and irrigation management, promotion of organic fertilizers, rooftop gardens and nurseries, integrated fruit farming, Rabi crop production, and the development of climate-resilient farming systems. Environmentally friendly solutions, such as waste management, solar energy adoption, and renewable fuel use, are also being promoted to reduce carbon emissions.

Through these initiatives, farmers are better equipped to adapt to climate change, increase productivity, and contribute to national food security. SAU, along with participating universities, continues to advance research and implement practical solutions to address climate change challenges.
